This recital program explores the diversity of solo percussion repertoire through works old and new. To start, J.S. Bach's keyboard work is played on marimba, bringing the music to life with clarity and resonance. Next, Ayanna Woods' piece for vibraphone explores mathematical processes and the magical color of a simple necklace used to prepare the instrument. To close out the first half, Akemi Naito's work for marimba will transport the audience to a tranquil forest where they will be lost in past memories.

On the second half, Pierre Jodlowski's work for percussion and electronics takes the audience on a virtuosic journey that engages all senses through theatrical percussion and an immersive soundtrack. Next, Michael Jarrell's piece, commissioned for the 2019 Geneva Competition, will give a compelling showcase of contemporary marimba technique. Lastly, a transcription of jazz pianist Keith Jarrett's solo improvisation will delight the audience.
